The mass demonstration unfolded both inside and outside the Delhi Police Headquarters after Assistant Commissioner Manasvi Vashistha and Inspector Arun Kumar were reassigned over the October 23 altercation. Addressing the crowd, Vashistha urged top brass to institute standard operating procedures for lawyers visiting police stations, provide court security, and penalize abusive practitioners. Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar met with the demonstrators for over 40 minutes, eventually sanctioning a joint coordination committee with bar representatives to de-escalate tensions and evaluate broader personnel concerns.

NEW DELHI: Hours after leading a protest outside and inside Police Headquarters, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Manasvi Vashistha was suspended by the ministry of home affairs (MHA).
Police sources said Vashistha has received his suspension letter.
The development comes a day after hundreds of
Delhi Police personnel gathered at police headquarters (PHQ) to protest the transfer of Vashistha and inspector Arun Kumar after a confrontation between police personnel and lawyers at Shahdara police station on October 23.
Delhi Police, however, described the gathering as a ‘sampark sabha’ (interaction).
The transfers followed an alleged scuffle in which an advocate sustained a serious head injury.
Lawyers accused the two officers of misbehaviour and alleged that the ACP had brandished his pistol. Vashistha, previously posted in Gandhi Nagar, was transferred to the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC), while Shahdara SHO Kumar was moved to the security unit.
Vashistha, whose transfer triggered the demonstration, led the protest. Personnel circulated messages in WhatsApp groups urging them to assemble at PHQ.

Singapore authorities are moving to prioritize deterrence over rehabilitation following a recent court decision that granted community-based sentences to several young scam enablers. Under new legislation introduced in parliament, custodial sentences will apply to perpetrators aged 21 or below unless exceptional circumstances are established. The targeted approach aims to dismantle recruitment pipelines that exploit teenagers as money mules and credential suppliers.
British workers are reporting unprecedented levels of workplace dissatisfaction amid stagnant wages and western Europe's widest wealth disparities. In response to mounting public demand for state intervention to address this divide, the government is rolling out substantial statutory workplace protections. These reforms aim to restore employee bargaining power by lowering recruitment barriers for trade unions and establishing strict legal hurdles for employers denying flexible arrangements.
Animal welfare concerns over rapid physical development have spurred Danish officials to initiate legislative moves against fast-growing poultry breeds. Cross-party lawmakers are pursuing statutory restrictions domestically while lobbying Brussels for broader bloc-wide action. However, domestic producers caution that national measures alone will simply divert consumer demand to foreign meat imports without improving overall livestock standards.
