In short

The assessment notes that the pre-owned vehicle sector is expanding rapidly, with its market value projected to surge from $36.4 billion in 2025 to over $73.5 billion by 2030. However, cumbersome paperwork, hidden charges, and patchy online systems consistently hinder interstate and local ownership transfers. The report also highlights severe user friction, noting that 39% of surveyed citizens faced delays in receiving registration certificates. To resolve these inefficiencies, researchers urge the implementation of unified digital records, standardized clearance certificates, and time-bound regional transport office services.
