By · Published by Everything Blog

In short

Impacted workers in the devices and services division received notification via text message and email on October 28. The decisions were made to realign staffing with the unit's future product roadmap, even after recent product launches that included new Kindle models, tablets, and an Alexa-powered alarm clock. This latest downsizing represents the company's second staff reduction in October 2026, following the removal of about 1,000 retail roles earlier in the month. The restructuring arrives just one day before the company is scheduled to report its third-quarter financial results.
