In short

First established in November 1996, the broadcaster has evolved into a global network employing over 3,000 staff members across more than 70 worldwide bureaus. While its field reporting during pivotal conflicts like the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan and the 2011 Arab Spring earned widespread recognition, two dozen of its journalists have been killed on duty since 2003. To mark its milestone, the organization is splitting its Arabic operations into three dedicated channels covering live events, breaking news, and in-depth reporting. It is also introducing an artificial intelligence initiative called "The Core," created in collaboration with Google Cloud.

Launched on November 1, 1996, the network broke new ground in Arab broadcasting, bringing previously marginalised political perspectives into the mainstream and creating space for debate on issues seldom openly discussed on regional television.
