The central government currently supports approximately 68 lakh pensioners alongside 48 lakh active employees who recently gained from updated dearness allowances. Labor organizations like the National Council of the Joint Consultative Machinery have urged the 8th Pay Commission to enhance basic pension rates to 67 percent and family payouts to 50 percent of the final basic salary. Future calculations for monthly payouts ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 75,000 are being evaluated against potential fitment factors of 2.0, 2.25, and 2.57. However, the commission still holds full discretion to implement these requests, retain current benchmarks, or propose different adjustments.

Credit rating analysts are sounding alarms over the financial strains caused by aggressive artificial intelligence investments. Heavy capital expenditures have pushed the company into negative free cash flow territory, triggering heightened scrutiny from debt evaluators. This revised stance coincides with steep equity market losses as investor skepticism mounts.
Domestic equities are poised for a gradual recovery following a two-year consolidation phase, with softer energy costs and double-digit corporate earnings growth acting as key tailwinds. Market sentiment could also benefit from prospective U.S.-India trade agreements, ongoing state-led reforms, and anticipated adjustments to securities transaction or long-term capital gains taxes.
