With the much-awaited listing completed, attention is shifting to the company's long-term growth prospects and whether its telecom leadership, expanding broadband network and investments in artificial intelligence can deliver sustained returns to shareholders.

Brokerages including Geojit, Religare Broking and Canara Bank Securities see significant opportunities for Jio over the next several years, supported by rising average revenue per user (ARPU), strong cash flows and opportunities beyond its traditional mobile connectivity business.

Jio's Rs 30,213 crore IPO was subscribed 22.19 times, with the qualified institutional buyer portion receiving 70.55 times subscription. The issue comprised entirely fresh equity, with no offer for sale by existing shareholders.

At the IPO price, Jio was valued at Rs 10.3 lakh crore. Its valuation and growth expectations have made future earnings delivery a key consideration for investors looking beyond the listing gains.

Here are five factors that could drive Jio's long-term growth.

1) Subscriber leadership and a large market for expansion

Jio is India's largest digital connectivity provider, with more than 533 million subscribers as of June 2026. Its nationwide 4G and 5G networks cover more than 99% of India's population. According to Geojit, the company has around 1.4 times the 4G and 5G subscriber base of its nearest competitor and carried nearly 60% of India's wireless data traffic in FY26.The brokerage estimates that India's mobile connectivity market could grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 12% through FY31, from Rs 2.9 lakh crore in FY26.

Canara Bank Securities has identified another major opportunity in subscriber additions and migration to faster networks. According to the brokerage, Jio is targeting a potential market of 340 million incremental mobility users over the next five years, comprising 100 million new mobile users and 240 million customers migrating from 2G to 4G and 5G services.

This gives Jio an opportunity to expand its subscriber base even as India's mobile market matures.

2) Higher ARPU and tariff hikes could lift earnings

One of Jio's biggest opportunities lies in increasing revenue from its existing customers. The company's ARPU stood at Rs 216 in the June quarter, supported by higher data consumption and the growing adoption of 5G services.Average monthly data consumption reached 43.7 GB per user during the quarter, reflecting increasing dependence on mobile internet services.

Religare Broking expects rising ARPU, higher data consumption and improving operating margins to support sustained revenue growth. "Rising ARPU and expanding margins indicate improved subscriber monetisation and operating efficiency," the brokerage said.

Future tariff hikes, migration to premium plans and increased use of digital services could further improve revenue per subscriber.

Jio's established subscriber base means even relatively small increases in ARPU can translate into substantial incremental revenue.

3) Home broadband offers another growth opportunity

Jio's home broadband business is emerging as an important revenue driver alongside mobile connectivity. According to Canara Bank Securities, Jio has connected around 30 million homes, including 6.5 million through its UBR technology. The company has expanded its home broadband network to 19,000 pin codes, covering 99% of India's population.

Jio accounted for 67.5% of India's net fixed broadband additions in FY26, with 40% of those additions coming from locations beyond Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, the brokerage said.

This expansion creates opportunities to increase revenue through home internet connections, entertainment subscriptions and bundled digital services. As fixed broadband penetration rises, the business could become a larger contributor to Jio's revenue and earnings.

4) AI, cloud and enterprise services open new revenue streams

Beyond telecom, Jio is building businesses across cloud computing, enterprise technology, artificial intelligence and digital platforms. Geojit believes these businesses could become important earnings drivers over the medium to long term.Jio's proprietary technology infrastructure, including its indigenous 5G capabilities and JioBrain AI platform, gives it opportunities to develop services for consumers and businesses.

The company has filed more than 7,220 patent applications, reflecting its investments in technology development.

Canara Bank Securities said Jio is also looking to commercialise its technology internationally through an asset-light managed-services model. This could include exporting its 5G core technology, home broadband platform and AI capabilities.

The brokerage also highlighted an addressable enterprise connectivity market worth $56 billion, with Jio already providing connectivity and surveillance services to 65% of Indian bank branches.

The commercial success of these businesses will determine how much they contribute to future profitability.

5) Strong cash flows and lower debt could support expansion

Jio's improving financial position is another factor supporting the long-term investment case. The company reported revenue of Rs 1,46,885 crore in FY26, representing a compound annual growth rate of nearly 16% over FY24-FY26.Adjusted profit after tax increased at a CAGR of around 19% to Rs 30,046 crore, while EBITDA margins remained close to 50%.

Canara Bank Securities estimates that around 13% of revenue was converted into free cash flow during the period.

The IPO proceeds will also strengthen Jio's balance sheet. Of the Rs 30,213 crore raised, up to Rs 27,500 crore will be used to repay or prepay borrowings at Reliance Jio Infocomm.

According to Geojit, the debt-to-equity ratio is expected to improve from 0.3 times to 0.1 times following the IPO-led deleveraging. Lower borrowing costs and stronger cash generation could provide additional financial flexibility as Jio expands its broadband, AI and enterprise operations.

What about valuations after listing?

While brokerages remain positive about Jio's growth prospects, its valuation will be an important factor in determining shareholder returns.Geojit valued the company at around 15 times FY26 enterprise value to EBITDA at the upper IPO price of Rs 1,119, representing a premium to industry peers. The brokerage believes the premium is supported by Jio's market leadership, improving monetisation and opportunities across emerging digital businesses. However, it cautioned that near-term upside could be moderated by its valuation.

Religare Broking estimates that the company was valued at 11.6 times FY28 EV/EBITDA at the IPO price, reflecting expectations of sustained earnings growth. Following the listing, investors will need to assess these valuation multiples against the prevailing market price.

For long-term shareholders, the pace of ARPU growth, profitability, broadband expansion and monetisation of newer businesses will be key to determining whether Jio can deliver returns beyond its initial listing gains.
