United Nations deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq has said that partner organisations have called on Israel to "stop the crackdown on Palestinian civic space", after Israeli forces raided the premises of Palestinian civil society organizations and a medical complex in Ramallah.

The forces had confiscating files and equipment and detained people. News outlets identified the medical facility as the Palestine Medical Complex.

Citing the UN human rights office, Haq said the raids took place on Tuesday.

He said the partners noted that such raids and the detention of human rights defenders and protection workers "had a chilling effect".
