US President Donald Trump has reiterated that the war on Iran will end “very soon”, while claiming Washington was in "total control" of the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking at a rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, Trump said Iran had lost its navy, air force, radar systems, and air defences.

“Their first level leaders are gone. They picked a second level. Their second level leaders have gone. They picked the third level. Half of them are gone, they made me promise not to take out anymore. And I did. I promised them. he said.

“So I probably went a little too far. I’m sorry, because I don’t know who the hell we’re dealing with anymore.”

Trump said the conflict had pushed up fuel prices, but will drop "very soon" when the war ends.
