In short

Polymarket, a prediction market platform, has removed a contract that allowed users to wager on the possibility of Cornell students accused of rape being charged with a felony sex crime, citing concerns over its potential degrading impact and association with celebrities. The company, which is regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, stated that its primary goal is to provide objective, data-driven insight and that it believes in the wisdom of crowds.
