The park is being developed near Okhla Bird Sanctuary metro station and is intended to serve residents of Sectors 94, 95, 96 and 97, along with nearby areas such as Supernova. Its design includes selfie points, small bridges, paved pathways and spaces for walking and jogging.

Two water bodies are planned as part of the landscape, including a central water body with a pathway passing over it. These features, along with the Japanese-inspired structures and gardens, will form the main elements of the park.

What is special about the Zen garden?

Zen garden is one of the key features planned for the park. Inspired by traditional Japanese landscaping, Zen gardens are associated with calm surroundings, meditation and introspection.Japanese gazebos will also be built within the park, offering visitors spaces to sit and spend time amid the landscaped surroundings. These quieter areas will sit alongside more recreational attractions, including the dragon-shaped swing and water features.

The park’s layout is designed to combine landscaped spaces with facilities for visitors who want to walk, exercise or spend time outdoors.

Park to have jogging and walking tracks

The project includes jogging and walking tracks, along with paved pathways connecting different sections of the park. These facilities are expected to make the site useful for residents looking for an outdoor space for daily exercise and leisure. However, parts of the pathways were still incomplete during a site visit on Monday. Paving, landscaping and other finishing work remain among the tasks to be completed before the park can open to the public.

Noida Authority develops the park’s green cover

Noida Authority plans to use the Miyawaki technique to develop dense green cover across the site. The method involves planting vegetation closely together to encourage dense growth.Officials expect the greenery to develop over the next two to three years. Plantation work had not started at the time of Monday’s site visit, as landscaping and other work were still underway.

The park’s green cover will therefore take time to mature, even after the main construction and finishing work is completed.

What work remains before the park opens?

The boundary wall and main structures are in place, but several finishing tasks remain. Tile work, landscaping and sections of the pathways were still incomplete during the site visit. Loose tiles and construction debris were also seen along parts of the unfinished pathways.Around 40 workers are currently involved in completing the remaining work, according to Anand Mohan Singh, deputy general manager (horticulture) at Noida Authority.

Security arrangements are also planned for the site. CCTV cameras will be installed at key locations, with footage monitored through a video wall in a dedicated control room.
