LUDHIANA: A school peon has been arrested for molesting a 16-year-old student inside the premises. The complaint also alleges that the accused recorded a video of the girl.
The Tibba police have registered a case against the accused under Section 75 of BNS and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s mother, her daughter needed a book for school and had approached her class teacher about it. The teacher reportedly asked her to collect the book from the teacher’s office.
The girl’s mother alleged that when her daughter entered the office to look for the book, the accused who worked as a peon at the school, arrived there. While the student was searching for the book, the accused allegedly grabbed her, pinned her against a wall, kissed her and subjected her to inappropriate acts against her will.
The complainant further alleged that the family later learned that the accused had also recorded a video of the student.
ASI Ravinder Kumar, who is investigating the case, stated that soon after receiving the complaint the police arrested the accused.
