Lebanese President Joseph Aoun asked US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to pressure Israel to halt attacks on southern Lebanon in a phone call held on Thursday, according to a statement from the Lebanese Presidency on X.

Aoun also asked that Rubio put pressure on Israel to "adhere to the provisions of the framework agreement, cease bulldozing operations, enable farmers to access their fields, and refrain from targeting them".

Despite agreeing to withdraw in the framework agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon in June, Israel continues to occupy parts of Lebanon’s southern region.
